"I would like to thank you for the excellent service you gave when I visited Auto Tec on the 27th February to have a Nokia CK-100 Hands free kit fitted.

I was led to you by a web search and found your website to be very clearly laid out with just the right amount of information. Having the installation cost shown separately from the kit price is good. Much better than certain large outlets that inflate the purchase price then claim to give free fitting.

I contacted you by phone initially to seek further advice on which kit to go for and was impressed with Julian's obvious knowledge of the different kits and the implications of choosing one over another. As someone who works in retail myself, I found it very refreshing to find someone who actually knows his stuff and doesn't just pay lip service to good customer service.

My only criticism is your use of an '08' phone number. Please consider the growing number of your potential customers who will not under any circumstances ring a premium line. Especially as your website does an otherwise excellent job of encouraging contact.

Even before I set off on my journey from Shropshire (that shows the power of a good website) Julian was good enough to point out that if using a sat-nav then the postcode doesn't quite do it and best to enter the road name and city.

I had pictured in my mind a typical privately owned car workshop. You know the sort, in desperate need of a good paint job, everything covered with years of oily use. The proprietor saying ""hang around outside for a bit and when I've finished getting this gearbox out I'll get to you"", whilst wiping his greasy hands down his overalls. Boy was I wrong! A clean, bright, converted barn workshop, in the grounds of a nice house. Even the garage floor was impressive; it was a shame to drive on it!

Once there I was greeted immediately (none of this hanging around trying to catch someone?s eye). Julian showed me the kit straight out of the box and explained the various components. The seats of my cherished car were covered before work started and I was asked to show where I preferred the control dial fitted, Julian suggesting several options and how they affected the final look.

I was then shown to a clean, spacious and comfortable waiting room above the workshop. It's not often you get asked to mind your head on the 'oak beams' when you visit a garage! There was coffee, tea, plenty of magazines and wash facilities (with clean, real towels).

The work was complete in under an hour but the waiting area was so clean and comfortable Julian could have taken all afternoon, especially as I was half way through a good magazine article when he invited me to check out the finished result.

The final job was immaculate with no sign at all that Julian had just dismembered my car interior to complete the work. He had even managed to drill a minute hole inside a covered pocket in the centre console where I keep my phone, so that the provided charging lead could be used. It all looks factory fitted. He then patiently talked me through pairing my devices and using the set up (no mean feat when you consider that I am something of a technophobe).

All in all a very professional and pleasant experience and what's more not a single squeak or rattle on the way home or since, (in fact, I think Julian cured a few that I already had).

Premium rate phone number aside, I'd give Auto Tec ten out of ten."
